Did you know that the Hoover Dam is over 700ft tall? No, neither did I... Until today of course. We went on a tour down to the bottom of the Hoover Dam and we got to see the water generators/pipes. We saw how everything worked and took some photos for you on the way! Apparently workers had to dig through 100ft of silt to reach the bedrock that forms the foundation for the build. It was built during the Great Depression and workers were only paid $4 a day. They would only get 2 days off each year. But all their hard work paid off and the dam was completed The in 2 days short of 2 years. Pretty good going if you ask me.
